Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that challenges traditional forecasts, the game developer has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the formal release, "A strange confrontation draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of forbidden practices and fearsome changes reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden group.
The questline centers on "peculiar experiments and a fearsome enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Players who finish the adventure will receive an exclusive katana together with numerous objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

This update also brings the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "The Mystery."
