Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev secured his first trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a challenging season, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over challenger Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since March of 2023.

The win also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my children together, so to get a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.

The player's counter-punching play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to wonder if his ability to perform at the top level was over.

However the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to approach the net and play aggressively, supported by an improved service.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the final five games to take the lead.

The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.

Moutet defended four early opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the win with a point at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
